About the Poet



Kim Van Someren holds a MFA in Printmaking from the University of Washington and a BA from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. She is an instructor in printmaking at the Pratt Fine Arts Center and Sev Shoon Arts Center. She has also taught etching, woodcut and monoprinting at the University of Washington and the Gage Academy of Fine Art. She is also active on the Seattle Print Arts Board, and the Pratt Fine Arts Center Instructor Advisory Committee board. Van Someren works primarily in etching, woodcut, and monotype—the majority of her works utilizing all of these methods simultaneously. Van Someren has exhibited locally and nationally; her work included in several collections including the New York Public Library, the University of Iowa, the University of Washington and Yale University’s Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library.
